The Acme building has been around for a REALLY long time. The official State of Texas Historical marker on the building says:

Built in 1892 by Llano builder and stonemason John Goodman (1852-1935), this turn-of-the-century commercial row structure has housed a succession of dry goods merchants, including Mrs. Riley's Millinery, Carlton's Dry Goods, and a store operated by Martin Jacobs. It was purchased in 1919 by the Acme Dry Goods Company. The one-story brick structure features round-arch transoms, keystones, and double store-front windows. Recorded Texas Historic Landmark - 1997

The Acme Dry Goods was converted to a restaurant around 2001 and purchased by Maurie and Jim Beasley in 2004 (Maurie says we are "Living Adams Dream" but you will need to ask her what that means). Maurie's the chef and Jim fixes things that are broken.

So please come by the Acme Cafe in downtown Llano TX. and enjoy Maurie Kay's special brand of "Tex-jun" cooking in the relaxed atmosphere of the historic Acme building with its original glass doors, hard wood floors and tall ceilings.
